This is the aftermath of a valley area that slowly leaked into the OSB Roof Decking below...no one noticed the problem...just the 'dipping' of the shingles above....and a small black stain on the ceiling in the dining room.





Now you can see the destruction that a small leak can cause...notice the lack of 'Peel N Seal' roof rubber membrane, which is used in these valley areas to divert any leakage by sealing the nails as they are driven thru the rubber...


This is the sheetrock ceiling (as viewed from the attic...thru the roof decking we removed due to low clearance..and the destruction of the roof decking)....just surface mold..which we lathered up with Germicidal Bleach...as we did the inside stain also...
We also moved the insulation out of the way...
...and then replaced the bad insulation 'batt's that had mildew absorbed into the Kraft Paper....
Large mess for such a small drip...BUT, it had been actually dripping into the vinyl soffit areas for years...and undetected...
