Vines and Trellis's...the Beauty IS the Beast!

Well, sometimes the beauty of the folliage can be the downfall of a great woodworking job on a home...or provide an avenue for mold to grow because they 'block off the sunlight'...or even a highway for bugs and insects to enter the home.

I know...it's hard to tell..but this is a beautiful Trellis and Deck in the little village of Valparaiso...just outside the worlds LARGEST military installation. This townhome is within 70 yards of the Bayou....

But kept 'tamed', they can be a 'serene atmosphere' to enjoy your morning coffee. But this is actually a 'deck' above the trellis...which outwings from the Master Bedroom upstairs......and is now infested with insects, bees, and the aroma of honeysuckle (which does NOT overide the 'bees'.) The vines retain the water, which have 'rotted' the woodwork above. And to get to the woodwork and 'tame' the vines, we've expected to have to carefully perform 'surgery' on the vines to remove them...but found that we 'underestimated' the actual amount of 'unseen' damages.

'come out...come out...wherever you are...!!!'

now we'll show you what happens when you have to remove the vines from the interwoven trellis's and you can also see it woven into the gutters, downspouts, and growing along the roofline..............those pics are coming up next............

Ah! Such a a beautiful demonstration of the lessons about the beauty within. We each have our own vines that cover us up and prevent the world from seeing us for what we truly are - a masterpiece created by His mighty hands and painted in brilliant strokes of amazing grace.

Sometimes it takes a caring hand or a blessed touch from another to trim those vines - to remove that which strangles the real beauty. Sometimes we are incapable of removing our own vines. Sometimes God sends us angels to love one another - with clippers in hand.

It is through our love for one another that our true beauty emerges.....
